APPROACH
The idea of bringing together this consortium had been attempted previously but never achieved the necessary support from the industry.
RESULTS
CIS led and acted as the CEO of the consortium until it had secured 79 partners and raised $322 million in funding.
The focus on this consortium is to reduce energy prices, carbon emissions and exploit Australia’s natural competitive advantage in renewable energy. Economic modelling indicates that over the next 15 years these initiatives will generate nearly $10 billion of benefits for the Australian economy.
