PROJECT OVERVIEW

The University of Melbourne have made a strategic decision to improve their engagement with industry partners. CIS were asked to run a series of applied training programs that takes participants through the key elements of engaging industry partners for each faculty.

 

APPROACH

CIS took an action learning approach where each of the key elements of industry engagement was explained and applied to a real-life project. These projects were developed, tested with funding partners and then presented to a mock funding panel for assessment and feedback.

 

RESULTS

Of the 7 bootcamps, 15 projects were identified as having commercial potential with over half now securing research funding.

Participants found the program highly rewarding scoring their overall satisfaction with the program as 4.46 and the quality of the facilitator as 4.81 on a 5 point scale.
