CIS have five permanent staff, and a range of consulting alliances.  
     
 

Greg Spinks

Between 1993 and 1995, Greg worked in the United States as a management consultant. His clients were predominantly Fortune 500 companies and he reported directly to the Presidents of these organisations. In 1995 Greg returned to Australia and established CIS. Greg is responsible for overseeing methodologies and client projects.

Prior to consulting Greg worked in two roles for the Australian Chamber of Manufactures as Industrial Relations advisor and as an economist.

Greg has an Economics Degree (Honours), Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources, and an MBA from the Melbourne Business School. He was one of two students selected to complete his studies at the University of Southern California where he was awarded the Dean’s International Fellow.

 

Bernadette Spinks

Bernadette is the fellow Director of CIS and has been involved in all aspects of client work programs since CIS’s inception. She has taken a leadership role in the technical aspects of client engagements including our customer satisfaction assessment methodology, financial models for business plans and grant applications and the development of our process mapping capability. Complimenting CIS work, Bernadette lectured part-time at RMIT on improving business practices.

Prior to joining CIS Bern worked as manager of an exclusive health club in Los Angeles. In this role she was responsible for aspects of the centre’s operation.

From 1989 to 1993 Bernadette worked as a high school secondary teacher where she was head of department.

Bernadette’s work history is supported by a strong academic background, which includes a Bachelor of Science (RMIT), Diploma of Education, Graduate Diploma in Human Nutrition and MBA from the Melbourne Business School.

 

Peter Gray

Peter has been engaged with CIS since 2008. He works predominantly in assisting with the development of grant applications and business plans. He has outstanding analytical and project management skills. His role in CIS projects typically includes the project management of larger projects, data analysis, where appropriate the economic impact modelling and interfacing with key collaborators and stakeholders.

Prior to joining CIS Peter worked in the Automotive Industry where his roles included Project Manager for new product development. This role included the management of a team of 14 engineers. This role also required the determination and evaluation of automotive innovations, budget forecasting and control, and the presentation and quantification of trade-offs and benefits.

Peter has an Engineering degree from RMIT and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (core subjects of MBS MBA) at the Melbourne Business School

 

Janine Pickering

Janine has taken overall responsibility for the implementation of recommendations stemming from CIS projects and is heavily involved in projects that have a strong change management or restructuring component.

Prior to joining CIS in April 2000, Janine worked for CSIRO as the Manager, Human Resources and Strategy Development which was a strategic role linking HR operations with Divisional business strategy. She was responsible for all HR policy, change management, career development and communications initiatives. Janine was also heavily involved in the development and implementation of strategic plans.

Janine has a Bachelor of Arts, a Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management and a Masters in Public Policy (Melbourne University).

 

Krishna Nair

Krishna Nair has worked as an Analyst for CIS since 2007. Whilst at CIS she has been engaged in a variety of projects and is typically used for completing desk based research, analysis of survey data, completing market research, documenting outcomes of planning meetings, assisting with the development of financial tables, drafting components of reports and ensuring our engagements are well organized and coordinated.

Krishna is academically gifted with a VCE ENTRE ranking of 99.5 placing her in the top 0.5% of Victorian students.

Whilst studying her Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial) & Bachelor of Information Systems from the University of Melbourne she was elected Vice President of SIFE, the University of Melbourne's student consulting arm. This role gave her not only considerable consulting experience, it also saw her take on significant management responsibilities which included staff training and recruitment, business development, client liaison and the project management of engagements.
